Tiger Woods and Anthony Kim have joined the
field for next week's World Golf Championships Bridgestone Invitational at
Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
Woods is the defending champion and has never finished lower than fourth at
the Bridgestone Invitational. He has seven career wins at Firestone and
defeated Padraig Harrington and Robert Allenby by four shots in the 2009
edition.
The world's No. 1 player is still seeking his first win of 2010 and will be
participating in his eighth tournament of the season. Woods last played at the
British Open two weeks ago and finished 23rd.
It will be Kim's first appearance on the PGA Tour in three months after taking
time to heal a torn ligament in his left thumb, which required surgery. He
last played in the Quail Hollow Championship in the first weekend of May.
Kim had been on a roll prior to the setback, winning at the Shell Houston Open
in a playoff in the first week of April, and had three other top-10 finishes.
