Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Dallas Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen left Friday's contest against the Vancouver Canucks in the first period with a lower body injury.

After making his seventh save of the opening stanza, Lehtonen pointed toward his left leg and immediately called for the trainer near the midway mark of the frame.

He was replaced by Richard Bachman and the Stars ruled him unlikely to return to the contest.

Lehtonen entered Friday's play with a 7-2-1 record through 10 starts.
