Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - The Calgary Flames on Friday placed center Mikael Backlund and goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff on injured reserve.

Kiprusoff departed Tuesday's game at Detroit with a lower-body injury after turning away 19-of-20 shots over two periods in a 4-1 win over the Red Wings. The move is retroactive to Feb. 5.

The 36-year-old Kiprusoff is 2-3-2 with a 3.24 GAA in seven games this season.

Backlund has three goals and one assist in eight games this season. He exited Thursday's 4-3 overtime win at Columbus with an undisclosed injury.

Calgary also recalled center Ben Street from Abbotsford (AHL) and activated defenseman Anton Babchuk from IR.
