Davie, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Dolphins placed running back Daniel Thomas on injured reserve Wednesday and signed defensive back Julian Posey from the practice squad.

Thomas injured his knee during Sunday's 24-3 victory over Jacksonville.

The 25-year-old racked up 325 yards and four touchdowns on 91 carries over 12 games with the Dolphins this season, his second with the club after being selected in the second round (62nd overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Posey joins the active roster after spending the previous 10 weeks on the practice squad. He has yet to appear in an NFL contest.
