Davie, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Dolphins placed kicker Dan Carpenter on injured reserve Friday with a groin injury.

Carpenter made 22-of-27 field goals this season.

The Dolphins replaced him by signing Nate Kaeding, who was released by San Diego in late October. He made all seven of his field goal attempts in the three games he played for the Chargers this year before suffering a groin injury.
