Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Jim Anderson has decided to walk away from the game after spending the last 29 years as the Cincinnati Bengals' running backs coach.
Not only was his streak of 29 years with one team the longest in the NFL for any position coach, but it's also a Bengals record for a coach.
Anderson joined the Bengals in 1984 following a college coaching career that included stops at Nevada-Las Vegas, Southern Methodist and Stanford. He worked under five Cincinnati head coaches -- Sam Wyche, Dave Shula, Bruce Coslet, Dick LeBeau and Marvin Lewis.
No successor to Anderson has been named.
