Peoria, AZ (Sports Network) - Ichiro Suzuki went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored as the Seattle Mariners slipped past the Cincinnati Reds, 8-6, in Cactus League play.
Adam Moore had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored while Justin Smoak had an RBI and a run scored for the Mariners. Felix Hernandez (1-0) grabbed the win for throwing three innings of hitless ball, striking out four.
Denis Phipps hit a three-run home run in the loss for the Reds, who also got a solo shot from Donald Lutz. Mat Latos pitched two scoreless innings in the start, while Brett Tomko (0-1) gave up five runs -- three earned -- in the third inning to take the loss.
