Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Marlins signed third baseman Placido Polanco to a one-year contract on Thursday.

The 37-year-old Polanco was limited to 90 games last season with Philadelphia because of a myriad of injuries. He missed time with back, knee, ankle and wrist ailments.

A two-time All Star and winner of three Gold Glove Awards, Polanco has hit .299 with 103 homers and 700 RBI in 1,809 career games with St. Louis, Detroit and Philadelphia.
