How can you save 3 percent on your heating costs?

In the winter, set your thermostat to the lowest temperature that you and your family find comfortable. Try setting it no higher than 68 degrees. In the summer, set it no lower than 78 degrees.

Try reducing or raising your thermostat one degree at a time for a week. With each one-degree adjustment for an eight-hour period your energy costs will be reduced.
