It takes 70 to 90 percent less energy to make recycled paper and using it saves five pounds of carbon dioxide per ream of paper.

 

Using recycled paper also means fewer trees are used and more forests are left intact worldwide.

 

Energy is also saved because every ton of recycled paper can save more than three cubic yards of landfill space and it also reduces the need for incinerators.
