AMERICAN FORK, Utah (ABC 4 News) - You hear the name Greg Peterson and you might think of the Republican activist from Orem and alleged rapist who committed suicide last week, but there's another Greg Peterson who is getting a lot of attention by having the same name.
Greg A. Peterson is President of Orange Soda a search engine marketing company in American Fork. He has the same name as Greg N. Peterson, who committed suicide last week and is accused of raping five women.
There are so many similarities, the publicist getting the two confused. “They found someone else with the same name who happened to graduate from the same University with the same degree and so it has been a real interesting process for me,” said Greg A. Peterson.
He changed his on line profiles, but people continue to ask him if he’s the Greg Peterson accused of the crimes. “The allegations that I read in the newspapers or even on line were so horrific if you will, they were asking hey do you know anything about this?” said Greg A. Peterson.
Even his family is taking questions. “My son is a masters student in accounting at Brigham Young University and one of his professors asked him if it was his dad,” said Greg A. Peterson.
“I think people have been able to see thorough this,” said Greg A. Peterson. “So no hard damage?” ABC 4’s Noah Bond. “I don’t believe so,” Greg A. Peterson responded.
Greg A. Peterson sends his condolences to the family of Greg N. Peterson, the man who killed himself, but wants to move forward with his life.
