MORGAN Utah (ABC 4 News) - Marnie Starks was warned to leave her violent relationship.
But for some reason, her family says she wouldn't.
On Saturday, Starks paid the price often seen in domestic violence relationships.
"They got into an argument and she's 95 pounds, he's 225 pounds," says Starks mother Jessie Franich. "He beat the crap out of her and then he strangled her."
Thursday Ogden police arrested her boyfriend Jeffrey White accusing him of beating her to death Saturday at their home.
"We're not okay we're not okay but with Jeff's arrest this morning, justice is finally going to be served for my sister," says rana Aguirre.
The family says White had a history of beating Starks. They claim this is the fifth time he's beaten her in the past few months. Her mother says broken ribs, bruises and scratches were part of her makeup.
"You don't do stuff like that to a dog," says Franich. "I hope he rots. I'm sorry but I do. I hope he rots."
And despite efforts by the family Starks wouldn't leave the violent home.
"There were warnings," says her sister. "He had done this several times before. I'm surprised it took him this long to actually get the task done."
On Saturday, after this latest beating she was rushed to the hospital where she died alone.
"I missed meeting her by five minutes," says her mother. "So she died without any family members."
Starks has a young son whowas at his mother's viewing Thursday evening in Morga
"His daddy is going to take care of him," says Aguirre. "He's got a great father, a great aunt Rana. He has a wonderful, wonderful family."
The family says White was always in trouble with the law. But they claim he was the son of a police officer and seemed to get off. But now that he's booked in the Weber County jail for murder, they believe his father won't be able to get him out of this situation.
