Opening in selected theaters a week early, “Pitch Perfect” follows Beca, the new girl on campus, who is sucked into joining an all girl singing group.

The film does exactly what a comedy should do, entertain an audience and make people laugh.

Anna Kendrick (Beca) does a fairly good job in pushing the film along. Her performance is a nice balance between being emotionally detached and deeply involved.

The real winning role is Rebel Wilson’s “Fat Amy,” a quick-witted smart mouth who has some of the best comic lines this year.

All in all “Pitch Perfect” is simply a lot of fun

It gets a B and is rated PG-13
