I won’t get into the science or the plot behind this time travel saga, except to say “Looper” is the best use of the genre I have seen in a very long time.

The film focuses on a hotel run by Dracula and his daughter. It’s the kind of place where monsters can come and relax and get away from humans. However a young man stumbles onto the hidden sanctuary and falls for Dracula’s daughter.

Opening in selected theaters a week early, “Pitch Perfect” follows Beca, the new girl on campus, who is sucked into joining an all girl singing group.

“The Oogieloves Big Balloon Adventure” is a manic and brightly colored film for young children. The film stars Christopher Lloyd, Jamie Pressley, Cloris Leachman, Chazz Palminteri, Toni Braxton and Cary Elwes as characters the Oogieloves encounter on their quest to retrieve some magical balloons for a friend’s birthday party.

“Lawless” is based on the true story of the Bondurant Brothers, a ruthless gang of depression-era bootleggers.

Jordan Sparks and the late Whitney Houston star in “Sparkle,”a film set in the 60's that chronicles the rise of a gifted singer who must overcome the pitfalls of the music business while trying to keep her family together.

Bang, bang, bang! Dialogue. Bang, bang, bang!

In Disney’s newest film “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” a childless couple (Jennifer Garner & Joel Edgerton) are at an emotional impasse. Not able to conceive a child, they are on the brink of accepting that they will never have children.

In this adult comedy, Will Farrell and Zach Galifianakis are in perfect balance with each other as they turn political mudslinging into a fine art.

“The Bourne Legacy” is the continuation of the “Bourne” series that starred Matt Damon. In the new film Jeremy Renner takes on the role of a rogue “outcome” agent who has been genetically altered with enhanced mental and physical abilities.

The new remake of “Total Recall” is beautifully filmed and offers up some decent acting. But what it lacks is heart and soul like its 1990 predecessor.

Christopher Nolan’s cinematic “Batman” trilogy ends with “The Dark Knight Rises”.

“Ice Age: Continental Drift” is the 4th in the animated series of films revolving around a group of prehistoric friends trying to survive the ice age.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” reboots the Sony / Columbia franchise and puts our friendly neighborhood web-slinger back on track.

“People Like Us” stars Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks in a story of a man who discovers his recently deceased father had a daughter and kept her a secret.

Magic Mike is about the life and times of a male stripper (played by Channing Tatum) who is the linchpin of a small nightclub. Mike, and his dancing crew bring in the clients while the club owner (Matthew McConaughey) sets his sights on moving the club from Tampa to Miami.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter needed to be a bit more fun. It’s true the new film has an edge to it but with out a sense of humor, that edge dulls rather quickly.

“Brave” is good animated feature. However when I talk about a film produced by Disney * Pixar, I think the standard needs to be higher. After all these are the folks that gave us “Toy Story,” “Finding Nemo,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Wall-E” and “Up.”

Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple. Their journey takes them through Europe where they find the perfect cover: a traveling circus, which they reinvent - Madagascar style.

“Battleship” looked so cool in the trailers and coming attractions. Then I saw the film and felt bad for those who are about to plop down their hard-earned cash to see this silly and predictable film.

“What to Expect When You’re Expecting” has a big cast. And I think that’s what’s mostly wrong with the film. The film switches and jumps from plot to plot so quickly the audience has a chance or the time to get to know, understand and like a character before the story moves on.

Actually the film is likeable although a bit over the top in places. But nothing more than I’d expect from Sacha Baron Cohen who stars as the spoiled dictator of a small Middle Eastern country.

In the late 1700’s a wealthy playboy named Barnabas Collins (Depp) has a torrid affair with a beautiful woman (Eva Green) in his employ. Unbeknownst to him she is a witch and when he scorns her, she turns him into a vampire.

To The Arctic is a documentary following a family of polar bears on their incredible migration through the frozen arctic wilderness.

“The Lucky One” is based on the best-selling book by Nicholas Sparks and stars Zac Efron as “Logan,” an Iraq war veteran searching for the woman in a photo he found during a battle.

Based on the best selling series of novels, “The Hunger Games” is a story of a young woman living in a post-apocalyptic world where young men and women are selected to fight to the death on TV.

SALT LAKE CITY (Talking Pictures) - Tony Toscano from Talking Pictures sat down with the stars of The Hunger Games to talk about the upcoming movie.

Let’s get right to it. “21 Jump Street” is hilarious. It’s a well-written, funny “buddy picture” (based on the 80’s TV series that launched Johnny Depp) that’s not afraid to be adult silly fun.

“Jeff, Who Lives at Home” stars Jason Segel, Ed Helms and Susan Sarandon.

“Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” stretches the original story by adding some incidental characters to the plot, but the message of slowing progress a “little bit” remains intact. Overall the film is worth seeing with your kids, who will probably want to plant a tree when they get home.

“Act of Valor” uses real-life active duty Navy SEALs blended with actors and a story involving global terrorism.

In her latest film “Gone,” Amanda Seyfried portrays a young woman who was abducted by a serial killer, but escaped. She has suffered severe emotional trauma and is just getting back into a normal life when her sister is taken.

Based on the children’s classic “The Borrowers,” “The Secret World of Arrietty” is a beautifully animated film that will engage any audience with a love for animation.

In the new romantic comedy “This Means War,” two CIA agents go head to head in their quest to win the girl they’ve both been dating.

The Vow is a romantic drama surrounding a young couple played by Channing Tatum (Leo) and Rachel McAdams (Paige).

I went to a very late-night screening of this and actually enjoyed the update.

Understandably there isn’t enough good and fun movies we can share with our kids these days, and to be sure the time between the “good” ones sometimes seem like a long time.

The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young turn-of-the-century lawyer who is battling depression after losing his wife. His law firm is giving him one last chance to redeem himself to the company by sending him off to a secluded village to close out an estate.

Chronicle is the tale of three high school students who mysteriously gain super powers. After which their lives begin to fall apart.

Kind of a “Bourne Identity” with a woman as the main character. The action sequences and fights are good but the plot is all too familiar.

“Red Tails” biggest problem is the film never really digs deep enough nor are the characters fully developed for the audience to empathize with. In fact there’s more genuine emotion in an episode of “Hogan’s Heroes” than in most of this film.

“Underworld: Awakening” is the 4th “Underworld” film, and the 3rd one to star Kate Beckensale as the vampire-warrior “Selene.”

“War Horse” seems like a modern epic. Filmed with the same sweeping camera shots as “Lawrence of Arabia” or “Ryan’s Daughter,” the movie boasts some of the best cinematography seen all year.
