MOAB, Utah (AP) - Authorities are releasing the name of an 18-year-old snowmobiler who was buried in an avalanche in southeastern Utah.

Investigators say the body of Garrett Carothers of Redvale, Colo., was found Sunday in a remote section of the La Sal Mountains near Moab.

A group of four snowmobilers triggered the avalanche Saturday morning near Beaver Basin. Three of the four managed to escape, but were unsuccessful in their efforts to locate Carothers. He was found under about 12 feet of snow after rescuers conducted an extensive search.

The death marks the fifth avalanche fatality in Utah since November and the fourth since Jan. 28.

The Utah Avalanche Center says the avalanche danger remains high across most of Utah's mountains.
