SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Traffic is snarled after high winds toppled a semi-truck on southbound Interstate 15 in Utah County.

Utah Highway Patrol Corporal Todd Johnson says medical crews were called to the scene after the accident about 7:55 a.m. Monday, but it was unclear whether the driver was taken to the hospital.

Some lanes were blocked near the crash scene at mile post 285.

High winds are sweeping through the state, with wind gusts upwards of 50 mph on I-15 north of Salt Lake City. The Utah Department of Transportation says gusts are higher than 60 mph on Interstate 80 west of Salt Lake City.
