Flash flood warning issued for south central Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for parts of southern Utah on Friday.

The NWS issued the warning for south central Wayne County, including Capitol Reef National Park until 4:30 p.m.

At 1:20 p.m., NWS Doppler radar indicated heavy rain from a thunderstorm across the scenic drive in capitol reef national park.

Locations in the warning include, but are not limited to Scenic Drive in Capitol Reef National Park, including The Grand Wash and Capitol Gorge areas.

The NWS warned drivers to stay away from areas where the water covers the roadway.
