HUNTINGTON CANYON, Utah (ABC 4 News) - For the third time since June, State Road 31 in Huntington Canyon is closed.

The Emery County Sheriff's Office said that the closure is a result of rainfall on September 2nd which resulted in debris flow onto the roadway and damage to the shoulder.

The closure affects the road from Crandall Canyon Junction at Mile Post 33 to Miller’s Flat Junction at Mile Post 18.

The closure will also impact workers that use the road for traveling to work at the Huntington Power Plant, coal mines construction sites.

UDOT is working to reopen the road, but says it could take several days before the work is complete.
