SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A woman died at the hospital after being hit by a car while crossing the street Saturday evening.
Around 9 p.m., a 39-year-old female was crossing the street near 2800 South 300 East, when she was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound, said Gary Keller, Spokesman for South Salt Lake Police.
She was transported by ground to an area hospital in very critical condition, but was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the medical center, said Keller.
Keller said the female was not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident, but was near one.
The victim's name will not be released until next of kin is identified, Keller said.
Police say alcohol was not a factor in this incident and charges have not been filed against the driver of the vehicle.
