OGDEN Utah (ABC 4 News) - A Colorado woman was shot in eye after she allegedly refused to stop.
Kristine Nicole Biggs was in stable condition following her three-county high speed chase.
"She continued to repeatedly ram the Morgan county sheriff deputy's vehicle," says Capt. Kenny Payne of Davis County.
Authorities say Biggs who was behind the wheel was warned to stop and get out. But Payne says she refused and rammed two law enforcement vehicles.
That's when a deputy fired at her.
"The bullet went across the bridge of her nose and took out her left eye,"says Payne. "So she is stable."
Biggs survived the shooting and was rushed to an Ogden hospital.
Police say it was a routine stop that triggered the high speed chase through three counties.
"What it was was minor equipment violation for a headlight," he says.
But investigators soon learned Biggs didn't have a driver's license. it had been revoked.
And she was also wanted in Mesa Colorado for violating a court order.
"It has something to do with wildlife and we don't exactly know what the terms of her failure to comply with orwhat her charges were," Payne says.
But what was she doing in Utah still remains a mystery.
"All of her personal belongs are still in the truck," Payne says. "I don't know if she lives in her truck or if she was trying to relocate."
Once Biggs recovers, Payne says she'll be transported to jail and could face charges of aggravated assault and fleeing.
