SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Police say the suspect in a Sunday shooting death turned himself in on Monday.

Salt Lake City Police say Phillip Lucero walked into the main downtown police headquarters and surrendered to officers just after noon Monday.

Lucero in the suspect in the shooting death of a 20-year-old Valentin Sigala Jr., who died at a local hospital early Sunday morning.

Police dispatchers received a call of shots fired at the 1094 Glendale Drive just before 5:00 a.m., and received word that Sigala's death had been reported by medical personnel shortly after.

Investigators believed Lucero to be armed and dangerous, and possibly heading to Nevada where he has acquaintances before he turned himself in.
