MURRAY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Three of the most sophisticated and safest medical helicopters in the world now call Utah home.

27 minutes, that's the time time it took Mike Tillack to get from a Mount Pleasant hospital to Provo after being shot in the head.

Tillack told ABC4, "I was just gushing blood, like I'd never seen before."

He was shooting guns with his father and brother outside of Manti, when he shot off his gun and was hit in the head.

Tillack showed off the bullet, "It's just the jacket - the lead stayed in the target and that's what they pulled out."

Wednesday Mike got a look inside the helicopter, he said, helped to save his life.

The biggest benefits of the new Life Flight helicopters; their speed and the room inside the aircraft.

Rob Anderson is a Life Flight Pilot, he said the new helicopters make his job easier. Anderson said, "The safety, the speed, everything is better in this aircraft."

The new helicopter is 15 times faster than the older one, reaching speeds of 193 miles per hour.
