According to the University of Utah Police, Assistant Coach Kyle Kafentzis was involved in a confrontation with the father of a Jordan High football player.
Moments after the football game, the police report states that Kafentzis and other coaches and players were about to board the school bus.
And then there was a heated argument and it got out of hand.
"There were fists flying," says Sgt. Garth Smith. "All we have is that father approached him (coach) and started getting to a heated argument."
Smith couldn't offer details but ABC 4 News obtained the police report and there were extensive details.
According to the police report the father told police there was "bad blood" between him and the coach.
He told police: "Coach Kafentzis wanted to fight him and tht he was not scared of any Polynesians
In the police report the father also claims "Coach Kafentzis came at him and wanted to fight him."
But Coach Kafentzis offered a different version of events when he offered his statement to police.
Kafentzis told police: "(Father) was stalking him as he was going to the bus. He started getting punched and kicked by (father) and other individuals."
But there were other witnesses that seemed to back Coach Kafentzis story.
One witness told police: "They kept walking and Kafentzis was punched in the back of the head."
And another witness claims "Punches were then thrown at Kafentzis who kept trying to get away."
The police report indicated that Kafentzis had red marks around his neck and no other injuries. Police wrote that "Kafentzis wanted to press charges, but all the coaches were eager to get on the bus and get their team out of there.

Police also spoke with head Coach Kjar who "indicated a similar incident occurred at a game last Friday at Jordan high school that (father) was involved in."

Canyon School District officials say they are conducting an internal investigation as to what happened.
