SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Utah officials say the Dump Fire near Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain has been 100 percent contained.
The fire started on Thursday near a landfill in the Lake Mountains area when two men were shooting targets that sparked the blaze.
The fire burned more than 5,500 acres, and spread rapidly on Friday after strings winds kicked up.
Some structures were threatened, including communications sites on top of Lake Mountains, and several hundred homes in Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain.
Thousands were evacuated on Friday and into Saturday evening as a precaution, although no homes were damaged.
More that 450 people fought the fire using 3 helicopters, 9 engines and 5 water tenders.
Crews continued mopping up the remaining fire on Monday and patrolled the perimeter as a precaution.
Firefighters were expected to be released from the incident and made available for other area fires.
