SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4) - Utah Senator Orrin Hatch has announced he will serve as a special adviser in Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.

The position means he will spend time campaigning around the country for Romney.

Republican Senate candidate Dan Liljenquist has challenged Hatch to half a dozen debates around Utah.

Liljenquist says if Hatch has enough time to campaign for Romney, he has enough time to debate in front of Utah voters.

Romney's support of Hatch could make a big difference for the six term senator.

In 2008, Romney won 90 percent of the Republican vote in Utah.
