Earlier this morning, a normally noisy newsroom went silent as reporters, producers and interns all looked at their TV monitors while the Space Shuttle Atlantis took for in an amazing liftoff. The launch was flawless. It was also the end of an era. 30 years of launches, most of the missions went without a hitch and the advancements in space and science lead us into a new age. It's sad that it's the end of an era. I remember growing up, drinking Tang like the astronauts and hoping that one day I too could go in to space. As I got older, I wanted to be the first journalist in space. I am intrigued by the stars, the moon, the planets, everything that is out there and beyond. I truly hope that there will be new space programs beyond the shuttle where we can all dream of space and continue to shoot for the stars.
