Between the flashes of lightning, the rumbling thunder and the wind blowing things across the road, it was a scary ride home for me last night.  I've covered major hurricanes from the coast and chased tornadoes, but the lightning last night might have been some of the most intense that I've seen in years.
The storm had been building before the 10 PM newscast and at one time there were more that 440 strikes of lightning on the counter of our Stormtracker Doppler Radar.       The wind picked up, the rain poured down and the lightning while amazing to look at, is a reminder that it can be dangerous and even deadly.
Watch today at 4, 5, and 6 PM, at 9 PM on CW30 and then again at 10 PM on ABC4.  I'll have some incredible viewer pictures of last night's wild weather.
