JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race is including parts of Montana, Idaho and Utah on its course this year, in addition to running through Wyoming.

Frank Teasley helped start the race in 1996 to showcase the state of Wyoming and make sled dog racing more accessible to the public.

Teasley said Thursday that the 2013 race will start in Jackson Hole, Wyo., and include stops in Montana and Idaho.

The racers also will briefly dip down into Utah before finishing back in southwest Wyoming, in Uinta County.

The race is scheduled for Jan. 25 to Feb. 2.
