Woman barricades herself, threatens Police

PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Provo Police are investigating a woman who locked herself in a bedroom with a gun and threatened police.

Police got a call, around 8:30 a.m Thursday, for a suicidal woman outside of a residence with a gun at 255 North 1600 West. When they arrived they found she had locked herself in a bedroom.

Officers tried to talk to the woman but she opened the door and fired off a gun shot at the ceiling. She then pointed the gun at police and made threats.

Police exited the house and evacuated nearby homes. Police then surrounded the house and a negotiator contacted the woman.

Around 11:30 a.m. the woman surrendered. She was talked to a local hospital to be evaluated.
