MILLCREEK, Utah (ABC 4 News) - One Utah wig shop is working with organizations in the city to empower women losing their hair to cancer.

Joni Harmon owns Headcovers by Joni.  She told ABC 4 News, "Several years ago, I started loosing my hair."

Joni Harmon knows first hand the devastating reality of loosing your hair and needing to wear a wig every single day.

Harmon said, "It's like a woman's crowning glory. It impacts their whole personality."

Joni turned the terrible development in her life, into an opportunity to serve others opening her own wig shop and helping women in need.

Harmon said, "We cry when they shave it. We cry when it's falling out."

Joni and her team help women going through cancer treatments, loosing their hair, find themselves again and do that with a wig.

Wig Stylist Cindy Johnson said, "Working with the women is so empowering, you are helping this person going through something just terrible and give them five minutes of fun."

Through Look Good Feel Better, the ladies are donating wigs and fixing others that need some help.

Harmon said, "So many times the wigs have been worn before, they are weathered and need help. We will fix them for them."

Johnson added, "It is such a great service. It isn't just doing hair."
