LAYTON, Utah (ABC 4 News) -- Layton Police are investigating what led to shots being fired near Valley View Golf Course.

Layton Police confirm that shots were fired near 2500 East Gentile.

The homeowner returned home to find a green four-door passenger vehicle in his driveway. He also saw a man in the doorway with a pry bar.

The homeowner grabbed a gun from his vehicle and fired two shots. The man ran away and the car drove off.

The vehicle had two people in it, a female driver and an older male passenger.

Police were able to capture the man and he is in custody. He has been identified as 47-year-old Robert Santos Cruz.

Police are still looking for the green car and the two people in the car.

Police are questioning Cruz and the homeowner.
