SANDY, Utah (ABC 4 Sports) - Real Salt Lake has partnered with the Utah Youth Soccer Association to sponsor the RSL State Cup.
Previously known as the Utah State Cup, the RSL State Cup is the premier youth soccer tournament in Utah. With over 3,000 participants representing 200 teams in a fall and spring series, the tournament offers a special environment for Utah’s elite soccer teams and athletes. RSL State Cup champions qualify for the U.S. Youth Soccer regional championships (Far West Regional), which is held in June of each year.
The Far West Regional winners qualify for the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships that are held in July of each year.
"The RSL State Cup is the top youth soccer tournament in Utah and we’re excited to be the title sponsor for it,” Real Salt Lake President Bill Manning said. “RSL has always been committed to growing the game at all levels in our state and we think that this partnership with UYSA for the RSL State Cup will do just that.”
