SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Sundance fans waited in lines Tuesday morning, hoping to get their hands on tickets. But just because people were standing in line, doesn't mean they would actually get any tickets.
Katherine Dean was one of the people wait, waiting for Sundance tickets: "I am in line trying to get tickets, hopefully."
Shelene Brown was also in line, this was her first time. "I've never gone through the trouble of getting tickets, but apparently they are hard to get"
Open ticket sales started Tuesday, but people registered for tickets months ago and many go to Movie Insiders. People in line Tuesday got first dibs at the leftovers.
People were in line for house researching, deciding what films they were going for and once the doors opened ticket office volunteers scored the ticket selections online. For a lucky few, they got what they were looking for.
If you don't have tickets, don't give up all hope you have a few options.
Sarah Pearce, Co-Managing Director Sundance Institute, told ABC 4 News: "Ticket sales are online anybody go online and buy tickets that are available."
But what's available is the problem.
You can wait for the day of the screenings, any openings will be posted at 8 AM each day.
Or you can be a bit more daring.
Pearce said, "Show up two hours before screening, get a number and come back a half hour before. If there is anything available you can buy a ticket and go on in."
