FATAL I-80 ACCIDENT
FATAL I-80 ACCIDENT
TOOELE COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A 26-year-old man is dead after being ejected from his vehicle on I-80 Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred at 5:36 p.m. near mile post 53, said Cpl. Todd Johnson of the Utah Highway Patrol. Two helicopters were dispatched to the scene of the accident.

Police say another accident near mile post 106, which occurred at 5:33 p.m., led to the arrest of a man under suspicion of DUI.

Johnson said a vehicle was traveling eastbound, against traffic, on I-80. Two vehicles swerved to miss the wrong-way vehicle; one slammed into a semi and the other rolled into oncoming traffic.

These accidents came the same day Utah Highway Patrol officials released a statement striving for a fatal free holiday weekend.
