The passenger with the knife in his carry-on bag was cited on a state charge, the TSA said.
The knives found Thursday are the latest in a long line of weapons incidents at Salt Lake City International Airport in 2013. Only the night before, a passenger headed to California was caught with a
handgun in his carry-on bag. It was the tenth firearm detected by agents at Salt Lake City's airport this year. Just 20 firearms were detected in all of 2012.
The TSA seeks to remind passengers that all firearms and sharp objects are prohibited from being carried or stored in carry-on luggage. Some restricted items may be carried in checked baggage, however. (
