OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) – A trial date has been set for Matthew David Stewart.

The trial is scheduled to begin in late April 2014.

Stewart is charged in the shooting death of Jared Francom, an agent with the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force in January 2012.

Stewart opened fire on police during a drug raid and shooting at police, killing an officer.

Prosecutors have said they plan to seek the death penalty against Stewart.
