SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Utah Transit Authority officials reported the agency's final plans for December service changes to the UTA board of trustees Wednesday.
The biggest service change will be the official opening of FrontRunner commuter rail from Salt Lake City to Provo, which will begin carrying passengers Monday, December 10th. Additional changes to TRAX and the bus system in Utah and Salt Lake counties will go into effect on Sunday, December 9th.
Key features of the plan include a redesigned Utah County bus system to include FrontRunner and a new FrontRunner station set to open at North Temple.
Downtown Salt Lake City bus services will also be adjusted to provide better downtown connections and circulation. The TRAX Green Line will also start to end at Arena Station to accommodate Airport TRAX testing.
