The Utah State Library has a new program manager

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Utah State Library has a new program manager for services to blind and disabled patrons.
Lisa Nelson was named to the post on Wednesday. Nelson succeeds Bessie Oakes who is retiring after 36 years.
Nelson has worked for the library since 2002. Most recently she was the special services coordinator, spearheading the conversion of the talking books collection to digital media.
The state library's program for blind and disabled patrons provides books in Braille, large print and in audio format.
Theservices are provided for free in cooperation with the Library of Congress and the National Library Service for the blind and Physically Handicapped.
The Utah State Library is a division of the state's Department of Community and Culture.
