SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Students at Westminster College in Salt Lake City are protesting the removal of their student body president from office by administrators.

Among other allegations, Nick Raoux is accused of showing up drunk at a college-sponsored, off-campus event last month.

Raoux apologized, and the student senate at the private liberal arts college voted not to impeach him at an Oct. 22 hearing.

But college officials announced a week later that they had removed him from office for violating the student conduct code. They declined to elaborate, citing privacy laws.

Raoux criticizes the decision to remove him from office, saying he's 21 and the college allows drinking in certain areas.

A group of students protested the decision last week by taping their mouths shut to show their voices are suppressed.
