SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) – A man lead police on a chase through the streets of Salt Lake County, Tuesday afternoon.
According to Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder the man is wanted in connection with the robbery of a Chase Bank on Monday.
Police have identified the suspect as 39-year-old James T. Carey.
Information told Police that Carey was staying in a hotel on the East side of the county.
Police made contact and he then lead police on a high speed chase through Midvale and Taylorsville.
During the chase, Carey threw a duffle bag of money out of the car window.
The chase reached speeds of 80 miles per hour and lasted about 15 minutes.
Police were able to stop the him near 5600 South Redwood Road.
Police used spike strips on the wheels, a K-9, and a taser to take Carey into custody.
Carey was bitten by the K-9 and taken to the hospital for his injuries.
Carey also has federal warrants.
