SANDY, Utah (ABC 4 News) A residence in a Sandy trailer park was destroyed by flames before firefighters could put it out.

At about 2:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a mobile home fire at 8800 South and 150 West. The home owners were at the scene.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze quickly, but the mobile home was a total loss and the residents are displaced.

The cause is still under investigation, but firefighters suspect it was an accident caused by the residents trying to though some pipes using a heating source.

Firefighters had difficulties working in the cold, notably condensation in their smoke masks freezing and damaging communications.
