CENTERVILLE, Utah. (ABC 4 News)- A mysterious package believed to possibly be a bomb was discovered on public property, early Wednesday afternoon.
A passerby spotted the suspicious looking package wrapped in duct tape and covered in a powdery substance lying near a fire hydrant, at 675 North Main Street in Centerville.
Police were called to the scene. They closed Main Street from Parrish Lane to Chase Lane during the investigation.
A bomb squad was also summoned to x-ray the package.
Around 4:00 p.m., the hazmat team confirmed that the package was not an explosive devise, but they removed the package to check the substance. Main Street was reopened at this time.
At 4:50 p.m. it was determined that the powdery substance was nothing more than baking flour.
