SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Salt Lake City police are in search of a man who smashed through the glass doors of Capital City Antique Mall Saturday night, stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise.

Monica Zoltanski is the owner of the antique mall located at 959 S. West Temple.  She received a call just after 10 o'clock Saturday night from police alerting her about the break-in.

"When I arrived I saw the front door was shattered and there was glass everywhere," said Zoltanski.

A case containing her most valuable jewelry items had been shattered.  Zoltanski tells ABC 4 News that the suspect caused an estimated $20,000 in losses.  In 13 years of business this is the first time the shop has been burglarized.

"The beauty of them, the rarity, the uniqueness of them....that's precious to people who understand it and that's irreplaceable," she said.

Zoltanski's surveillance cameras caught a picture of the criminal and she needs your help identifying him.  The suspect did cut himself during the burglary, leaving blood at the scene.

"He's done it before and he'll do it again," said Zoltanski.  "Let's get him off the street."

If you have any information on this crime you're asked to call Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000.
