Trimming Your Christmas Tree!
Alexis Crockett was here from Rod Works to show you how to get that professional look when trimming your tree this year. Her first rule of thumb is go big or go home...if you're going to do it... do it right the first time. Little ornaments and small picks are great fillers but if you want your tree to look amazing you've got to put some big amazing items on it.
Here are a few tips to remember,
1. Have a plan, whether your adding to your existing tree decor or starting from scratch make sure you know what "style" of tree you want. If you're unsure of what you want then do some homework, go look at decorated trees in some of your favorite stores, get online or ask a creative friend (or a Rod Works girl) to help you.
2. Pick your color scheme (or theme). This is a must! You need to know what your working towards so your time and money is well spent. Nothing is more frustrating than standing in return lines around Christmas time.
3. Don't be afraid of large items...they really kick up your trees decor and bring that professional look to it. You can wire just about anything into a tree so go a little crazy with it!
4. Once you have all you need the fun begins...start with lights, mesh, ribbon, large picks, etc.
Then you can add large ornaments, and other large items that need to be secured to the tree, and last but not all least add smaller ornaments and such to finish it off.
The best part about decorating a Christmas tree is that through the years you can add new things every year and truly make it your special tree.
