German Bratwurst with Sour Red Cabbage and Cracked Mustard
Sour Red Cabbage
2 slices Bacon, sliced
2 cloves Garlic, smashed
½ small White Onion, minced
½ head Red Cabbage, sliced
1 Apple, peeled & sliced
¼ cup Red Wine Vinegar
2 Tbsp. Sugar
Salt and Pepper, to taste
Method:
· In a large pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until it begins to brown.
· Continue cooking while adding in the garlic and the onion. Cook about 4 more minutes until the onions are soft and the bacon is brown.
· Add in all remaining ingredients and simmer until the liquid is almost dry.
