1 in 4 women will be sexually attacked at some point in their lives, so how can you stay safe? Robyn Warner gives advice/tips on what to do if you are being attacked...and what you can do to avoid being attacked.
Ways to PREVENT being attacked
Don't go anywhere alone
Always tell people where you are and what time you will be back
Look confident and determined
Don't have your head looking down and cell phone while walking, etc
Specific to running:
Don't put hair in ponytail,
Bring phone,
Don't wear earphones in both ears and dangling earrings
Don't wear baggy clothes but also don't make them revealing
Carry pepper spray, etc.
What to do if you ARE attacked:
Yell words as loud as you can.. don't scream ( this sounds sometimes like it sounds like fun)
Don't stop moving
Never let the attacker take you anywhere
Talk to your attacker
Use keys as weapons
Look closely at your attacker and know all facial features in case you have to point him out later
Never stop fighting
Go for vulnerable spots like eyes, groin, throat etc.
Keep calm and never give up
NEVER GO HOME... go straight to hospital/police station because they could follow you home and everything your wearing is evidence so you don't want to wash up.
