Becky stops by the studio today to show us some pointers on using our cameras to take professional looking pictures with out the Professional pricing!
  • Get up close and personal

  • Don't be afraid to flash people

  • Doll them up

Other short tips to help you when taking photos

1.Zoom with your feet. Point and shoots don't have the best lenses-so when you can, you should always simply walk closer to your subject. You will get better quality photos this way.

2.Look for the light. Window light or natural reflectors (like a big white building) will help make pleasing color and soft light to your subjects. When possible I would always shoot with window light.

3.Get ready to steady. In low light you can get blurry images. Find a wall that you can rest against or a table you can rest your camera on. I always take a deep breath before a photo and hold the camera with one hand underneath to avoid shake.

4.Know your gear. Read your manual and know all the functions your camera provides.

5.Try and try again. Practice using your camera and carry it around with you. This will help you be faster in capturing those cute moments because you will know your gear better and will also be able to better predict when things will happen.
