Cleve Hall from "Monster Man" stars in the Syfy reality docu-series.
Cleve Hall is the face and master of the operation, having been in the prop design game since he was a teenager. He has created masterpieces for countless movies for big studios including Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks, Warner Bros., Disney, and numerable television programs. Monsters are his specialty, which fits the personality of a man who dresses in all black and drives a hearse.
Cleve grew up in rural Florida next to a family cemetery. His mother loved horror movies and he hated babysitters, which resulted in her taking young Cleve to a lot of movies featuring grotesque abominations. He spent much of his childhood watching such movies as "Mothra," "Gorgo" and "Godzilla vs. The Thing." Godzilla changed Cleve's life forever. From that moment, Cleve wanted to grow up to be a monster maker.
While in high school, Cleve built his first Godzilla costume, which won first prize at a monster convention in Houston, Texas. As luck would have it, someone from Six Flags saw the costume and hired the high school student to build another costume for them. It was Cleve's first professional build and the start of his career.
Cleve then formed Imagimation Productions and created various creatures for stage and commercials in Florida. Over the next several years, Cleve worked on such low budget films as "Ghoulies," "Re-Animator," "Troll" and "Terrorvision." He also lent his talent to higher-budget films like "Ed Wood" and "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" where he was able to fulfill a life long dream of building a Godzilla costume and even playing the famous creature himself.
In the '90s, with the advent of CGI, the world of creature effects changed forever. With fewer films using physical effects, Cleve expanded his client base to include kid shows such as "Yo Gabba Gabba," for which he received an Emmy nomination. He also began working with rock bands such as KISS, creating Gene Simmons's Demon Armor for each tour, as well as groups such as Insane Clown Posse, Alice Cooper, Tenaceous D and DEVO.Constance Hall Bio
