Free Activities to Keep You Busy This Summer
Long vacations and bright sunshine make summertime so much fun, but I can only make so many trips to the beach before the dog days of summer have me worn out. Luckily, there are lots of things you can do inside (or at least out of the sun!) to make your summer vacation a way better experience. Here are a whole bunch of fun (and free!) activities to keep you busy this summer!
Free Summer Concerts
Check local newspapers for free, outdoor summer concerts in your area! From New York City to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, there's music of all genres to be found.
Cheap Movie Tix
On the hottest day of the summer, there's nothing better than eating popcorn and watching the newest hit films in a cool, air conditioned movie theater. If you want to bring the kids along
Volunteering
Volunteering is good for everyone. There's no greater feeling than knowing you helped someone in your community who really needed it, and it's a fun way to pass the day if you find yourself dying of summer boredom. Public Library Awesomeness
We practically live at our local library during the summer. Even our incredibly underfunded public library offers book clubs, arts and crafts, and workshops for all ages. Also, don't feel like you're limited to only attending library programs at your closest library. With our library system, for example, we can attend programs at any public library in our county. At most libraries, some events will require pre-registration, so check it out, quick!
